A 16-year-old boy has appeared before the courts following a stabbing on a fellow teenager in Dudley.
The 17-year-old victim was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in Wolverhampton Street on Monday, 28th December.
He remains critically injured, but is in a stable condition.
Police arrested the 16-year-old and charged him with wounding with intent before he appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of the next hearing which will take place in the new year on January 6th.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We’ve charged a 16-year-old boy with wounding with intent following a stabbing on Wolverhampton Street in Dudley at around 2.45pm on Monday, December 28.
"He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court this morning and has been remanded into custody until his appearance at Wolverhampton Youth Court on Wednesday 6 January."
