A 28-year-old man has been left with “life changing scars” after being slashed in the face in Liverpool city centre.
Thomas Corder, from Ormskirk, had his face “slashed open” and other wounds inflicted after a verbal altercation at the Invisible Wind Factory.
An ambulance was called to Seel Street in the early hours of the morning on the 12th of December. The Police were informed of the incident, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
After losing his friend, Thomas found himself being confronted by a man at the venue. He told the Liverpool Echo: “I think we might have been arguing over me bumping into him or something, but I honestly can’t remember. The shock has just blocked it all.
“I know there was no physical altercation, but I just remember thinking I’d been glassed, and I could feel my ear flopping around.”
He told the Echo that a surgeon said the wound, extending from his earlobe down to his chin, looks like it was caused by a knife.
Merseyside Police have launched an investigation. CCTV and forensic enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “Enquiries are in the very early stages to establish what has taken place.”
They are appealing to anyone with any information from the attack to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 2100085
