A woman has been found guilty of murdering her boyfriend after she "flew into a fit of temper" during a scuffle.
Ellie Wain was armed with a knife when entering an altercation with her boyfriend, Kieran Brown, outside their home on Middle Ride in Willenhall on June 1 this year.
Wain stabbed Brown four times, with one of these wounds going 12cm deep, penetrating his heart.
Brown was driven to hospital by his father in the aftermath of the ordeal, but he was soon pronounced dead.
Wain claimed that she possessed the knife for self defence, and that the stabbing was an accident.
The jury at Coventry Crown Court found Wain guilty of murder, finding that her relationship with Kieran Brown was often volatile and that she had been drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis on the day of the disorder.
Detective Inspector Adam Jobson, from West Midlands Police CID, said: "If Wain hadn’t armed herself with the knife, she would not have been able to inflict the fatal injuries she did, and Kieran would still be alive today.
“This will now mean she loses her freedom for a long time.
“This is yet another reminder of the fatal consequences that carrying and using knives can have.
“I urge anyone that picks up a knife to stop and think before it’s too late... there is no going back."
Wain will be sentenced tomorrow, Tuesday, December 22.
